register here for hatch summer 2023 workshops

Hatch is hosting our first open-to-the-public workshops this summer, thanks to the northwest dayton partnership grant!

We will have one weeklong program for teens and one for K-6th graders at the Northwest Branch Library. We will have another weeklong program for 3rd-8th graders at the Gem City Market.

The weeklong Teen workshop registration opened on May 1. Are you a teenager with an interest in architecture and design? Do you like to build? In this weeklong Architecture and Design workshop, you will be given a real “problem” to solve through design. You’ll brainstorm and research, design your own solution, build physical and computer models, and then BUILD. You’ll hear from various professionals working in related fields as well. FREE but registration is required. July 10-14 from 2:00 – 5:00 each day. Please plan to attend all five. Gift cards will be distributed for perfect attendance. 15 students max. Dinner is provided at the end of each session. This is at the Northwest Branch Library.

The K-6th workshop registration opens on June 1. This Architecture Week is a weeklong series. Your child will start by exploring architectural design, create their own design, and BUILD it by the end of the week! It is FREE but registration is required. July 31 – August 4 from 4:00 – 5:00 each day. Please plan to attend all five. Gift cards will be distributed for perfect attendance. Caregivers may be required to stay in the room with their child during the build portion of the week (Thursday/Friday). This is at the Northwest Branch Library.

The 3rd-8th grade workshop at the Gem City Market registration is now open. Your child will start by exploring architectural design, create their own design, and BUILD it by the end of the week! It is FREE but registration is required. July 24-28 from 10:00 - 11:30 AM each day. Please plan to attend all five. Gift cards will be distributed for perfect attendance. 15 students max.
